Not too much to report here. Just getting used to lugging around my belly, sore back, swollen feet and hands, and gently reminding the little girl to stop pushing on my bladder. She has got me quite exhausted by the end of the day but I really can't complain...I am still feeling very good. She is still as active as ever and we are continuing to have lots of fun watching my belly move. I feel as though I could place a small object on my belly and in no time at all, watch it go flying across the room. My new favorite thing about my belly is that it holds objects for me. It's great for folding clothes but especially, it holds my ice cream bowl quite nicely!
To be perfectly honest, I have been struggling a bit with the idea of this tiny little being completely taking over my body. I knew some weird things were going to happen to my body but I feel as though I have completely surrendered it and I'm not sure that I will ever get it back. I have not particularly enjoyed some of the changes taking place but I am prepared for a lifetime full of change. But, I would not take anything back from this wonderful experience and I will continue to give all I can for our little babe.
I think, for now, I'll just focus on the idea of how great of an ice cream bowl holder it is. :)
I am getting very excited for the Minnesota shower that's coming up this weekend. I can't wait to see some friends and family that I haven't seen in a while. My mom, sister, and niece will be coming from Wisconsin to help celebrate. We are making a weekend out of it and spending some extra time together. We are staying at the casino and I think it's a win-win for everybody. Mom gets to gamble, Clare gets to swim, and Jenny and I get to be silly sisters together. Oh yah, AND the casino has THE BEST carrot cake around. I'm not kidding. THE BEST. Fulfill all of your carrot cake needs at Mystic Lake Casino. Mmmm...can't wait.
Welcome...to The Story of Us. Here, we share our thoughts, reflections, photos and memories...Enjoy!

What a Beautiful Day!
This past weekend was our baby shower in Wisconsin. It was a great time and we came home wiht SO many wonderful gifts. We have been spending the last 2 days washing, sorting and organizing clothes, putting together strollers and carseats, and just admiring all of the beautiful gifts from the wonderful, gracious people in our lives.
A super special Thank You goes out to my mom and sister for putting together such a beautiful day. They put a lot of thought and work into this special day which did not go un-noticed. Thank you to everyone who took time out of their Saturday to join us. It was great to see you all and we appreciate the thoughtful gifts. Another big Thank You to my mother-in-law and sister-in-law, Terry and Karla. It was so nice of you to make the trip for the day and we are really happy you both could make it. It just wouln't have been the same without you!
We are now 32 weeks along and still doing great. I am definately feeling the heartburn, tiredness, soreness, swelling, etc. a lot more but that's to be expected!
Here are a few pictures from the shower...thanks for capturing the moments, Jen!

Fabulous job on the diaper cake, Mom!
Clare is always such a good little helper!
We are looking forward to our Minnesota shower coming up in a couple of weeks. Thanks, in advance, to everyone working so hard to make that day so special as well. We are excited and appreciate everything being done for us. We are so grateful and we love you all!

30 weeks!
Wow...we are 30 weeks along and time is flying! We have been having a great time going through this process together and learning a lot about a lot. I have been feeling very well overall. I had a bout of bad, bad heartburn but it only last a couple of days. Hopefully it doesn't come back. Sam has been doing a great job of waking up when I get up (to use the bathroom) and helping me sit up in bed. He gives my back a little push or grabs my hand and pulls me up. My front is getting pretty heavy...especially when I have been laying for a few hours and then try to get up. I have been trying to get my rest and put my feet up when I can. Thankfully I am able to do this as I have a job with awesome hours and I get lots of help with things around the house.
We continue to enjoy watching and feeling the movements of my belly. We will have our 3rd of 6 baby classes this week. They have been pretty fun so far. Last week we got to end class with husbands giving wives a 10 minute back massage. After all the practice breathing techniques and an awesome back rub with the lights low, it's pretty safe to say I left pretty relaxed.
We will see our doctor again in about a week. Hopefully we will still be on track as we inch closer and closer to the big day. Equal parts of excitement and anxiety have begun to settle in.
Did I mention how lucky and grateful we are to have such wonderful parents? As both sets of parents, sister, sister-in-law, aunts, and other relatives work hard to prepare for my baby showers, I want them all to know we do not forget, we see all that gets put into these functions, and we are so, so thankful. My mom and dad and mother and father-in-law never make a visit without bringing a bag full of items for Baby and Jaxon.
As I sit, reclined and relaxed in my chair typing, my mother-law-is probably working hard to finish up the curtains that she has decided to make from scratch for us. Sitting at her sewing machine she thinks of all of the details and plans that she is narrowing in on for what I know will be a wonderful baby shower.
As I sit, reliving the wonderful and relaxing weekend Sam and I shared at the cabin, my mom is returning home from a trip to Minnesota which included a trip to the grocery store and a trip to our house to drop of a load of delicious groceries. What a nice surprise to return to my entire counterspace and fridge filled with groceries. Not to mention, 3 bags of my favorite candy, 2 boxes of my favorite carrot cake, 5 new cookbooks, a school bus toy for the baby, a new rope toy for Jaxon, and a bouquet of beautiful red roses.
We are so blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives and we will be delighted to introduce our little one to our families. We appreciate everything you all do for us and we love you lots!

Let the memories begin...
2 yrs old: "Mama, I love you".
10 yrs old: "Mom whatever!"
16 yrs old: "My mom is so annoying"!
18 yrs old: "I wanna leave this house".
25 yrs old: "Mom, you were right".
30 yrs old: "I wanna go back to my Mom's house".
50 yrs old: "I don't wanna lose my Mom".
80 yrs old: "I would give up EVERYTHING for my Mom to be here with me".
To the most important woman in my life:
Dear Mom,
I love you with all my heart. You have taught me so many things in life and I can't even put my appreciation into words. I am who I am today because of you. I am proud of who I am. You have always had a way of teaching me life's most important lessons without even knowing it. I hope that I am half the wife and mother that you are. Thank you.
Belly Pics!
28 weeks
P.S. My liver and platelets test came back normal. So, no need to worry about the annoying bloody noses.

Happy Valentine's Day!
Happy Valentine's Day to all of our loved ones! Hope you had a special day. We had a great day...we went to our 28 week appointment yesterday and all went well! Baby Girl has a super strong heartbeat in the 140's and moving around like crazy. We are having lots of fun watching my belly move. She's quite spunky! We are measuing right on and this time I only gained 2 pounds. AND I was wearing a heavy sweater! Nope, I did not try to do anything different to keep from gaining so much weight. It must have just been a time of rapid growth? I'm sure toward the end I will gain a bunch at a time not to mention the swelling I hear such great things about. I did mention my concen about all of my recent and random bloody noses. My doctor had a bit of a concern about my platelets so I had a blood draw and should get the results shortly. She tried to determine the position of the baby but I happen to be so darn ticklish that I kept tensing my stomach muscles everytime she felt around so the position is still to be determined. Next time we should be able to figure out the position. And hope for head down baby pretty soon! Yikes.
Today was an exciting day as we decided on and secured our spot at daycare. This was a difficult process and a lengthy and stressful search. After months of thoughts, ideas and research, and weeks of phone calls, interviews, tours and decision making, we feel great and very confident about our decision. What we thought we wanted, we couldn't afford...what we could afford was not "good enough". This is especially an unpleasant search when we both really want Mommy to be able to stay home with the baby but...not an option. :( We decided on a small, school based center in Plymouth. (loved the place from the moment we walked in) Sam is working with his boss in hopes of changing his schedule so that he can work 4-10 hour shifts and have one day off per week. This would allow us only 2 days in daycare as we are lucky enough to get help from Sam's parents as well. Grandma Sjostrom will be taking care of baby 2 days per week. We are, once again, SO grateful we have such awesome parents and in-laws that help us out in so many ways. So, this is a big check mark on our to-do list...I literally felt a weight lift off of my shoulders today.
Tomorrow is also a big day as we start our 6 weeks of classes at the hospital. We are nervous because this means that we are getting closer to the big day. But, also very excited to learn and see what these classes have to offer. I've got my pillows and my "coach" all ready to go! Hee Hee Hoo. Right? :)

Belly Pics....26 weeks
Here are some more belly pics...
We are approaching 28 weeks...time is flying! Everything has been going pretty well. I have been under the weather latley but most people I know have been sick so I'm not too surprised that I got it too. I can't help but think about the days when I used to pop Tylenol and not think much about it...now, I'm just struggling through.
The best thing for us lately is to watch my belly move. I feel like I could lay and watch my belly move all day long. We are trying to treasure all of these memorable moments :)
