This video is from my phone from a few weeks ago...she was talking a lot more before I pointed the camera at her, of course. You might have to scroll down to the music player and pause it so that you can hear her voice.  Her cute little voice :)

Busy.

Sorry friends, we've been busy.  I think about updating my blog all of the time but...thinking about doing and actually doing are very different things.

We've been having a very busy, but very fun, summer.  It seems like we are always on the run or heading out of town.  As soon as I get all of the bags unpacked from one weekend we are packing again for the next.  We have been lots of fun running around with our Little Leah.  She is such a good traveler and we hope she stays this way!  We think that her being so young makes her the easiest traveler that she'll ever be because right now she just sleeps in the car and doesn't require entertainment.  I'm sure we'll be in the market for one of those portable DVD players in no time.

We had Leah's baptism last weekend and had a great time!  It was great to recieve so much support from our families and members of the church.  It is so refreshing to see so many people, even strangers, showing so much love and support for our child.

We just got back today from our mini vacay.  Sam and I have been going to Rock Fest together for 9 years now.  This is a tradition that we'd love to hold on to even if we can't share it with our children.  We left on Thursday and took Leah to Nana and Papa's house.  The 3 of them had a GREAT time together.  I left Rock Fest Saturday to spend time at N & P's and returned Sunday-Monday.  We always have a blast and create such fun memories.

My parents have already called to say they miss Leah and want her back.  It's times like these where living in different states gets difficult.  But, we will just have to get together more often. :)

Leah update:  She's doing very well and is a very happy baby.  She is almost always content and smiling.  She is sleeping very well.  On a typical night she will go to bed around 7 and gets up once in the night.  Then she sleeps until about 6 in the morning.  We worked hard to get her to a good sleep schedule and she has responded very well so we hope she keeps up the good work! She is "talking" a lot and we are having so much fun with her.  She is making this whole "being a parent" thing SO rewarding.  Love her!

P.S.  I will add some pictures later when my internet isn't being so slow.  And I just want to go to bed.

What we've been up to...

We have been adapting well to our routine change.  I wasn't exactly sure how it was all going to work but everything is falling to place and going very well.  I have completed my second week back at work.  Leah has completed her second week at daycare.

I had a hard time thinking about going back to work.  My major meltdown on the Sunday before allowed me to make it through Monday without crying. (almost)  When Monday morning rolled around we woke up and fit right in to our newly adapted schedule.  With a lot of guess and test, we all made it to our places on time and all had a great day.

Leah seems to lover her daycare and they all love her.  She has made lots of friends already and has participated in art projects, music classes, fun in the water days, etc.  She also seems to love spending time at Jay & Terry's house.  She has adjusted well to her new routine; which made me adjusting well to mine, much easier.  I do not worry about her getting the care that she deserves.

I received a warm welcome back to my job and slid right into the swing of things.  I don't even mind be asked a thousand times a day, "How's the baby? Where's Leah? You miss your baby?" by my clients.  I can talk and brag about her all day long!

I am sad my maternity leave has come to an end.  We had a great time together and really got to know each other.  But, I am happy that Leah's grandparents get to spend some time with her and that she will interact with peers at daycare starting at a very young age.  Leah has proven to be quite adaptable as we have recently taken her many places.  We started traveling by car with her very early so hopefully she remains good company for road trips. :)

Leah is 2 months old today.  I don't think I even have to say how bummed I am that time is flying by so fast, but I guess I just did anyway.  She just makes my day when she smiles that big gummy smile first thing in the morning.  Such a beautiful sight makes me forget how tired I am and how many times I was up during the night.

Speaking of which, she is sleeping pretty well, as of now anyway.  For the past 2 weeks or so she has been going to bed at about 7 and wakes up at about 1 and 4 to eat.  Then she usually wakes up for the day around 7.  Not complaining!

She is still working very hard on getting that thumb in her mouth.  Sometimes I just want to help her get it in there but then I think about the future and her being 12 years old and still sucking her thumb.  I may be exaggerating a bit.  She even goes cross eyed trying so hard to get that thumb.  She'll get it.

I think it is safe to say, Leah has found her voice.  She is very vocal regarding her needs and lets us know if she is unhappy.  She also has a very cute little giggle that has been coming out more and more often.  She is doing a lot of cooing and practicing different shapes of her mouth and different pitches of her voice.  She accidentally says "Mom" all of the time...yes, I have to admit, I'm pretty sure it is accidental.  However, she did say "google" the other day.

We just love this little gal!

My Mom has requested more pictures of me with the babe.  Here you go Mom.  :)
Happy 4th of July!

I found this in her bag when we got home from daycare... Leah's very 1st art project!
